Requirements
  • A New York State Physician Assistant license is required.
  • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants certification is required.
  • Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications are required.
  • NICU experience is required.
  • Computer knowledge is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and provide patient care under the supervision of a physician.
  • Attend all deliveries with an attending physician and/or a pediatric resident.
  • Assist with admitting new patients to the NICU.
  • Handle admissions and general service discharges.
  • Assist with starting intravenous lines.
  • Enter data into the computer for the New York State and Vermont Oxford databases and the NICU log book.
