As a Senior Software Engineer working on Discovery Live Ops, you will play a pivotal role in powering the Roblox editorial voice. You will work closely with teams across Discovery, Marketing and Developer Relations, focusing on developing and implementing technical solutions for managing and showcasing both curated content on our platform (e.g. the “Today’s Picks” sorts on Home and Marketplace), and in-experience updates (e.g. seasonal events).

You will report to the Engineering Manager on the Discovery Live Ops team.

You Will:

Content Optimization - How do we help select and display the correct content to users?
Content Expansion - Allowing other kinds of editorial content to be displayed on our platform
Event Discovery - Improving the way users find and interact with in-experience content

You Have:

6+ years of software development experience
Experience in compiled languages such as C# or Java
A record of taking a strategic approach to challenging technical problems and seeing them to completion
Experience designing and maintaining complex backend systems
Strong cross-team collaboration, especially with non-technical collaborators
(Bonus) Familiarity with React
(Bonus) Familiarity with A/B Testing

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$233,840—$283,780 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
