Requirements
  • The candidate must have 12 or more years of experience in an agency, studio, or brand environment, with most of that time in a creative director role on business-to-business, business-to-business-to-consumer, and consumer brands.
  • The candidate must provide a portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, versatility, and results for business-to-business brands.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to drive results and build relationships with key clients as a creative and company leader.
  • The candidate must demonstrate financial accountability by scoping engagements to revenue and margin targets.
  • The candidate must have a strong copywriting background, including campaigns directed and campaigns created as a copywriter or associate creative director.
  • The candidate must have experience developing client thought-leadership content and support materials, from video to long-form content.
  • The candidate must have a deep understanding of business-to-business media channels, including trade media, performance marketing, social media, customer relationship management, search, artificial-intelligence search, and emerging channels.
  • The candidate must have software skills in Google Workspace, including Docs, Slides, and Sheets; Microsoft 365, Teams, and Outlook; Figma; Gemini; ChatGPT; NotebookLM; and other comparable tools.
Responsibilities
  • Translate strategies into strong concepts and campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Lead client presentations and take an active role in client status meetings and planning.
  • Use client and market insights to generate proactive ideas for clients to consider.
  • Build campaigns that resonate with audiences and drive business outcomes.
  • Participate in the Creative and Design department leadership team.
  • Orchestrate workshares to showcase the team's work across the department and company.
  • Take an active role in new business for brands matching prior experience.
  • Together with the executive creative director, set the creative standards and frameworks that define the creative operating model for business-to-business work.
  • Serve as a leading voice across the client team.
  • Immerse in clients' businesses, audiences, and industries at both creative and business levels.
  • Direct the creative team to deliver work within project timelines and budgets.
  • Lead client campaign presentations and direct work through production and optimization, anticipating risks to timelines, quality, and outcomes and intervening before escalation.
  • Collaborate with strategy, media, customer relationship management, and analytics leads to use data to optimize campaign work.
  • Lead and mentor creative teams, shape the work and their careers, establish annual objectives using quarterly progress checks, and conduct informal one-on-one discussions about work, performance, and life.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to introduce and leverage artificial intelligence to optimize work, workflow, and production while keeping a human in the loop.
  • Work with the executive creative director to manage revenue, margin, and utilization across the account portfolio by anticipating scope and budget risks and partnering with account leadership to protect profitability.
  • Drive portfolio growth by identifying and pursuing expansion opportunities within existing client relationships.
  • Play a leading role in pitches, requests for proposals, and new-business conversations for adjacent brands.
  • Drive the conversation that makes the business case for the work, connect creative to commercial outcomes, and tie creative decisions to client growth, acquisition, and retention metrics.
  • Stay close to the work by shaping platforms for teams to produce and stepping in to write at appropriate points.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of client products, services, benefits, features, voice, and style to shape campaigns and copy.
  • Lead client discussions when brand elements need to evolve to remain relevant to audiences and markets.
