About the company

Blade Air Mobility provides on-demand urban air transport for passengers and time-critical cargo, primarily using helicopters and amphibious aircraft. It operates with an asset-light model as an indirect air carrier by arranging flights with DOT/FAA-licensed direct air carriers rather than owning aircraft. The service covers the United States, Canada, Southern Europe, and India, including routes like Manhattan-area flights to shorten travel time in congested urban areas. Revenue comes from selling seats on scheduled flights, private charters, and expedited delivery of high-value cargo (such as organs), with the goal of cutting travel and delivery times in busy cities.

Joby Aviation files prospectus for 2.4M Blade earn-out shares as stock nears 52-week low

Joby Aviation filed a prospectus supplement covering up to 2.42 million shares for potential resale by Strata Critical Inc. The company will not receive proceeds from any resale. Joby issued the shares to Strata Critical on 8 September after the acquired Blade Air Mobility operations met specific EBITDA milestones. These shares represent approximately 0.24% of Joby's 996.3 million shares outstanding. Separately, Joby's autonomous J208 aircraft has begun a month-long, 10-state coast-to-coast tour. The aircraft was displayed in Fort Worth at the launch of the White House-supported eVTOL and Advanced Air Mobility Integration Pilot Program. Joby shares reached a new 52-week low of $6.25 on Thursday, having declined 53.87% over the past 12 months.

Strata Critical Medical expected to break even in 12 months with 171% growth rate

Strata Critical Medical, a US provider of time-critical logistics solutions and specialised medical services to healthcare providers, is expected to break even within 12 months, according to consensus from two analysts. The company posted a US$33 million loss in its latest trailing 12 months, widening from US$27 million the previous year. Analysts forecast a final loss in 2025 before the company turns a US$7 million profit in 2026. This projection requires an aggressive average annual growth rate of 171%. Notably, Strata Critical Medical operates with no debt on its balance sheet, relying entirely on shareholder funding. This unusual structure for a cash-burning growth company reduces refinancing risks and makes it a less risky investment proposition.
