About the Job

Requirements

  • The role requires 4–8 years of Android app development experience using Kotlin; Java knowledge is a plus.
  • The candidate should have a strong understanding of the Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and Flow, and dependency injection using Hilt or Dagger.
  • The candidate should have experience with Room database, Retrofit or OkHttp, and modular codebase design.
  • The candidate should know the Gradle build system and Android build configurations.
  • The candidate should be proficient with Git, GitHub, and continuous integration and continuous delivery tools such as Bitrise, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • The candidate should have experience with Firebase, including Crashlytics, Analytics, Remote Config, and Performance.
  • The candidate should be familiar with unit testing and automation frameworks such as JUnit and Espresso.
  • The candidate should have experience working in Agile or Scrum teams using Jira and Confluence.
  • The candidate should understand secure mobile development practices, including API security, payment integration, and data privacy.
  • The candidate should have experience handling app versioning, release cycles, and Google Play Store deployments.
  • A preferred qualification is a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • The candidate should have strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • The candidate should take accountability for feature delivery and quality.
  • The candidate should communicate effectively while working with a distributed global team.
  • The candidate should adapt to changing priorities and business needs.

Desired Qualifications

  • Exposure to e-commerce or shopping apps is highly desirable.
  • Contributions to open-source Android projects or apps published on Google Play are preferred.
  • Familiarity with Compose Multiplatform, Kotlin Multiplatform, or Jetpack Compose animations is preferred.
