DevOps & InfrastructurePlatform Engineering

About the job

Requirements
  • Strong Terraform experience, including writing, debugging and producing reusable modules for others to consume.
  • CI/CD experience, ideally GitHub Actions; experience with equivalent GitLab CI or Jenkins is acceptable. Candidates should understand guardrails, including gates and policy checks they built and why each exists.
  • Solid Kubernetes experience in production across workloads, CNI, Helm and Argo. Self-managed or bare-metal clusters and contributions to or authorship of operators are strong pluses.
  • Hands-on experience provisioning and operating GCP or AWS through Infrastructure as Code, with an appetite to go deeper.
  • Strong Linux fundamentals, including debugging production hosts without a runbook across processes, networking, storage, systemd, logs, and kernel versus user space.
  • Proficiency in Python or Go, with demonstrable experience of test-driven development.
  • Direct experience with production on-call and incident response, and a considered view on what makes a rotation sustainable.
  • Typically 5+ years in infrastructure, platform or systems engineering.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Must be based in the Amsterdam area or willing to relocate; the role is on-site and not remote.
Responsibilities
  • Write, debug and publish reusable Terraform modules consumed by other engineers, covering both the Linux fleet and cloud estate.
  • Design and own CI/CD workflows and guardrails in GitHub Actions, including policy checks, tests and approval gates that enable engineers across Technology to self-serve infrastructure safely.
  • Build and operate Kubernetes on both sides of the estate, including managed cloud clusters and on-premise k3s, along with the distributed systems running on it, particularly Kafka.
  • Provision and operate GCP, AWS and Alibaba Cloud resources through Infrastructure as Code.
  • Operate and automate the Linux estate, including Foreman provisioning across VMs and bare metal, Puppet host configuration, Ansible/AWX application deployment, patching and lifecycle management.
  • Build automation and internal tooling in Python or Go, using test-driven development as a normal working habit.
  • Take a share of the global 24/7 on-call rotation and deliberately cross-skill between the Linux and cloud sides of the estate.
Desired Qualifications
  • A genuine cross-domain background spanning both Linux/systems and cloud/platform rather than one domain plus only passing familiarity with the other.
  • GCP experience specifically, as it is the primary cloud.
  • Kafka experience in production; substantial Kafka depth is a significant advantage.
  • Experience with fleet tooling: Puppet for host configuration management at scale, Ansible and AWX, and Foreman.
  • Bare-metal and datacenter infrastructure experience, including provisioning, hardware lifecycle and virtualization with VMware or Proxmox, plus networking depth across routing, load balancing, BGP and multicast.
  • Experience in financial services, trading or another high-availability, latency-sensitive environment.
  • Dutch language skills are useful but not required.

Spout raises $2M to offer 0% interest loans against tokenised US stocks

Spout, a Solana-based lending protocol, has raised $2 million in a strategic round. Investors include Draper Dragon, Anchorage Digital, Flow Traders, and Taisu Ventures, with strategic backing from Solana Labs. Users post tokenized US stocks as collateral and borrow USDC at a flat 50% loan-to-value ratio, paying 0% interest. Spout instead sells covered call options against the collateral each week, and uses the premium to pay lenders. Charles Schwab and Fidelity charge 12.075% a year on margin balances under $25,000. Private banks offer securities-based lending at 4% to 6%, but mainly to clients who meet high minimums. Spout is not yet on Mainnet. Its beta runs on Solana Devnet, and a private beta will launch soon. The funding will go towards growing the team and building its credit layer.
