About the job
- ARRT registration in Radiology is required within one month of hire.
- A current registry with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency is required within one month of hire.
- Advanced knowledge of radiation protection, physics, positioning, and image critique is required.
- Extensive computer literacy, including computed radiography, picture archiving and communication systems, and hospital information systems, is required.
- Demonstrate knowledge to provide care appropriate to patients' age-related needs and knowledge of growth and development principles for the patient population served.
- Be able to assess and interpret patient-status data to identify needs and provide appropriate care, including age-related care for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
- Perform radiographic examinations, including fluoroscopy, trauma, portable imaging, operating room, pain clinic, special procedures, and examinations at the main clinic.
- Perform radiographic procedures using accepted principles and practices at CGH Medical Center.
- Provide as-needed coverage for radiographic procedures at the main clinic, following defined competencies and accepted principles and practices.
- Assess examination quality, appropriateness, and results accurately.
- Explain procedures to customers.
- Supervise student technologists appropriately.
- Prioritize work assignments for self and others.
- Complete record entries in the computerized system.
- Assist in maintaining images and other records.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Maintain radiology competencies based on current scientific knowledge.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Two years of experience in radiology is preferred.
