Responsibilities
  • Deliver integrated Global Medical Affairs strategies and operational plans addressing regional, patient, payer, regulatory, and physician stakeholder requirements.
  • Lead the team responsible for strategic and tactical Medical Affairs plans for the therapeutic-area portfolio.
  • Plan and execute global data dissemination, opinion leader and external expert engagement, medical education, and patient advocacy and engagement strategies.
  • Drive evidence-generation and data-dissemination plans in collaboration with policy and access colleagues.
  • Partner with regional Medical Affairs colleagues to develop integrated global perspectives, strategies, and plans and maintain two-way communication.
  • Ensure global life-cycle management strategies and plans are developed and coordinated for key assets and disease-area adjacencies.
  • Collaborate with Research and Development, Regional Medical Affairs, Global Public Health, and Business Development and Licensing colleagues.
  • Serve as a member of the Labelling Committee.
  • Provide Medical Affairs input into compound development, life-cycle management strategies, plans, and trial design from Phase IIa through Phase IV.
  • Represent Medical Affairs on Safety Management teams and support risk-management strategies, plans, and periodic benefit-risk assessment reports.
  • Perform medical impact assessments as required.
  • Ensure global activities follow Johnson & Johnson compliance principles.
  • Provide medical oversight of sponsored market research, clinical trials and studies, medical reviews of regulatory documents, medically important results, and other research-related activities.
  • Drive medical strategies involving population health, data mining, predictive analytics, disease interception, and outcomes-based partnerships or pilots.
  • Develop and execute globally integrated approaches to patient access, external scientific relations, medical education, and publication planning.
  • Serve as a primary contact for key opinion leaders, academic institutions, medical organizations, global health organizations, partners, and consultants.
  • Provide strategic oversight for portfolio prioritization and investment, disease-area strategies and budgets, cross-disease-area resource allocation, and licensing, merger, and acquisition activities.
  • Provide people leadership, mentorship, coaching, and performance management for a team of approximately 10–15 full-time employees and lead talent strategies.

Apollo in talks to acquire J&J's orthopedics unit for $20B
