Requirements
  • A strong commercial and industrial electrical background is required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills using sophisticated test equipment, including a digital multimeter, Megger, power quality monitor, underground cable tester, and infrared camera, are required.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code is required.
  • The candidate must be able to safely operate and maintain a specialized electrical service vehicle.
  • The candidate must have computer and keyboard skills.
  • The candidate must be trained in OSHA 30-Hour, CPR, and First Aid.
  • The candidate must be able to manage customer and company-specific information and documentation in an organized manner.
  • The candidate must maintain productivity, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
  • The candidate must be an effective professional communicator, both written and verbal.
  • The candidate must be available for rotating twenty-four-hour call as needed.
  • The candidate must provide references, pass a background check and drug screening, and hold a valid driver's license.
  • The candidate must hold a valid state driver's license.
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential is required.
  • The candidate must be able to work 40 hours per week plus required overtime, including night shifts.
  • The candidate must be able to read blueprints, drawings, schematics, maps, instructional manuals, work-site directions, and written instructions.
  • The candidate must comprehend and practice safe work procedures.
  • The candidate must be able to operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmissions.
  • The candidate must be able to identify wire colors and other items, hear and see adequately with or without correction, and perform bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, and overhead reaching.
  • The candidate must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds, tolerate prolonged standing and foot movement, climb all types of ladders, and repeatedly use the arms, hands, and fingers.
  • The candidate must work in varying weather conditions, at heights up to 90 feet, in restricted areas, and use required personal protective equipment.
  • The candidate must provide and maintain required personal tools, including a waist tool belt, and transport or relocate ladders unassisted.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Superintendent or Project Manager in overseeing operations and field personnel responsible for installing, adding to, and repairing electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment.
  • Lead and direct all field personnel involved in the assigned project or task.
  • Plan the project or task in the most efficient and profitable manner.
  • Ensure that all materials are ordered and received in a timely manner and comply with requirements.
  • Read and comply with the Employee Handbook, Safety Manual, and Policy and Procedure Manual, and require field employees under the role's leadership to do the same.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bilingual Spanish and English ability is preferred.
  • A valid state driver's license is required for the position.
  • OSHA 30-Hour and CPR certification are preferred.
  • A minimum of six years of electrical experience is preferred.
