Requirements
  • A master's degree with Athletic Trainer Certification and professional experience in collegiate athletics is required.
  • Certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification and state athletic training licensure are required.
  • Familiarity with National Collegiate Athletic Association governing rules is required.
  • Ability to minister to others with the gospel through the platform of athletic training is required.
  • Communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other athletic trainers, strength and conditioning personnel, and coaches are required.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and professionally with student-athletes is required.
  • The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The role requires irregular hours, including some nights and weekends.
  • A committed Christian faith, agreement with the University's Statement of Faith, meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical church, and alignment with the University's spiritual and lifestyle expectations are required.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to Colorado Christian University's mission by facilitating a safe environment in which student-athletes can use their talents to serve others.
  • Evaluate, treat, and assist in preventing athletic injuries and illnesses.
  • Provide counseling and education to student-athletes on issues related to sports injuries.
  • Perform athletic training administrative duties, including record keeping and documentation.
  • Provide rehabilitation therapy to athletes.
  • Work with doctors and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student-athletes.
  • Travel with teams to road events as assigned.
  • Provide training coverage at each home event in which assigned teams participate.
  • Assist with reviewing and updating University training policies and protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with campus health care professionals, the team physician, and counseling departments to provide appropriate medical oversight to student-athletes.
  • Disciple and mentor student-athletes in their Christian faith through athletic training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar private Christian institution is desirable.
