Requirements
  • Candidates must hold and maintain current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, or be willing to complete a 40-hour training course and sit for the RBT competency exam within 45 days of employment.
  • Candidates must be willing to participate in the company's background check process if offered employment.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Candidates must have reliable transportation and, in some cases, provide proof of a driver's license and valid car insurance.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
  • Candidates must be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and complete a TB test if they have not had one in the past year.
  • Candidates must be able to get down on the floor and stand repeatedly, lift up to 50 pounds, and move quickly when required to support client interaction and safety.
  • Candidates must reliably attend each scheduled therapy appointment.
  • Candidates must maintain professional presentation and conduct.
  • Candidates must remain patient to help clients stay on task and maintain emotional control when a client acts out physically or verbally.
  • Candidates need strong attention to detail to perform repetitive tasks precisely and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Candidates need sufficient technology skills to record data on a mobile device and navigate digital applications.
  • Candidates need written and verbal communication skills and cultural competency, including flexibility and an open mind.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct client care in one-to-one and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
  • Follow behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols in each client's individualized treatment plan, as developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Board Certified assistant.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in accordance with each client's individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Complete documentation on time and according to established procedures.
  • Communicate client progress to parents and caregivers as instructed by the supervising behavior analyst.
  • Use safe and appropriate procedures when working with clients, and report critical incidents and safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Assist the supervising behavior analyst in preparing client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skill acquisition activities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience as a behavioral technician, or experience working with children with autism or other learning disabilities, including as a teacher's aide, tutor, certified nursing assistant, caregiver, or home health aide.
