Amo unbundles social features into a suite of focused apps that share a single profile, friends, and settings. Its current apps include ID for collaborative profile expression, Bump for map-based friend and place sharing, and Sugar for unlimited-canvas chat, all free with revenue from in-app purchases. The company uses a monorepo built on Bazel and operates under GDPR as a Paris-based business. Its goal is to enable more authentic, human-centric online interactions by letting people choose only the tools they want while maintaining a cohesive social footprint.

What believers are saying

  • Bump hit #2 social and #7 overall in Taiwan in January 2025.
  • Amo's 30-40 person team keeps shipping new apps quickly from Paris.
  • Thousands signed up after ID's 2023 launch, showing early product-market pull.

What critics are saying

  • Amo still lacks clear monetization; TechCrunch said revenue strategy remained TBD in 2023.
  • Zenly's 2022 shutdown under Snap proves social-location products face platform replacement risk.
  • Amo's growth depends on continual launches; product fatigue can stall retention within months.

What makes amo unique

  • Antoine Martin and Zenly veterans rebuilt social UX with amo's app ecosystem.
  • Amo separates identity, location, and chat into single-purpose apps, not a super-app.
  • ID, Bump, and Sugar share profiles and friends across products.
