We set new standards with our game-changing product and are a driving force within pop-culture. We are looking for an eCommerce Analyst to join us in advancing the industry forward. 

 

We are looking for a Sr. Director, Data Platforms and Engineering to be a founding leadership member of our Data, Insights, and Loyalty team. In this senior role, you will be responsible for leading a team of Data Engineers to build and operate our data platform, which includes data ingestion/cleansing/modeling, data visualization / reporting, and ML / data operations. Key deliverables for this role include developing and delivering roadmaps for data platform enhancements, as well as establishing a model that provides ongoing support and data/quality operations.

 

·Own ongoing development and support of our data platform using data product management principles and processes

·Develop roadmaps that deliver new capabilities (e.g. new data domains, data models) as well as address performance and platform operating costs opportunities

·Lead a team of Data Engineers, including mentorship and skills development

·Build scalable methodology to mature and accelerate our data engineering and data product development practice

·Establish data visualization (e.g. reporting) training and support best practices for the company

·Develop a MLOps / Data Ops operating model for the team

·Manage data platform spend within budget

·Work with our technology partners and data analysts to ensure high-quality, usable data are captured to support reliable business-facing analytics

·Keep abreast of new advances in data platform tools and best practices across retail and related domains

·Partner with SVP and Sr Director Analytics to lead team and company data change initiatives

 

·8-10 years of experience in a data engineering or data science role, preferably working in a direct-to-consumer business

·Demonstrated ability to independently plan and execute complex data engineering pipelines for large datasets

·Ability to translate business strategies into technical requirements / roadmaps for large, cross-functional initiatives

·Creative thinker, adept at understanding a wide breath of retail analytics use cases and identifying the data and analytics necessary to make them into a reality

·Builds and leverages networks across the organization to effectively lead change management initiatives

·Excellent SQL skills and experience using modern data programming languages (e.g. Python) to manipulate data and draw insights from large datasets required

·Experience creating dashboards and reporting using visualization tools like Looker (preferred), Tableau, or PowerBI required

·Direct experience with the data platform stack currently in use at SKIMS highly desirable: Fivetran, AWS Lambdas, dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Looker

·Prior experience in people and team management of 2-5 years highly desirable

·Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced, swiftly-changing startup environment

·BA/BS in Math, Computer Science, Analytics, Data Science, or other quantitative field desirable
