Requirements
  • Maintain all required state certifications and licenses in active and good standing throughout performance.
  • Comply with applicable permit requirements, environmental regulations, customer procedures, safety requirements, and facility access requirements.
  • Hold a current Texas Class C Wastewater Operator certification or license in good standing.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Work Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or another schedule agreed upon with the customer.
  • Handle after-hours work, emergency response, or call-back support in accordance with applicable overtime rules.
Responsibilities
  • Identify operational deficiencies, equipment issues, compliance concerns, safety hazards, and material shortages, and notify appropriate Government or customer personnel.
  • Prepare and maintain operational logs, maintenance records, sampling records, compliance records, and other required reports.
  • Operate, monitor, inspect, and maintain assigned water or wastewater treatment systems in accordance with state, federal, permit, and customer requirements.
  • Perform daily operational checks, equipment readings, sampling, testing, process-control adjustments, and required documentation.
  • Support or perform permit compliance reporting, Discharge Monitoring Reports, sampling reports, and related submittals.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repair of treatment equipment, pumps, valves, piping, tanks, controls, gauges, chemical-feed systems, and related utility equipment.
  • Use Government-furnished tools, personal protective equipment, supplies, materials, and equipment as required.
  • Coordinate with Government staff, outside repair contractors, and other support personnel when larger repairs or specialized contractor support is required.
  • Follow lockout/tagout, confined-space, chemical-handling, personal protective equipment, and site-safety procedures.
  • Maintain dependable attendance, accurate documentation, and safe work practices.
