Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • At least one year of radiologic experience.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), including computed tomography registration.
  • Licensure by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA).
  • Advanced Modality registration must be obtained within one year of the hire date.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification or American Red Cross Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
  • Computed tomography certification is required.
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification is required.
  • Ability to produce high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Ability to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with age-specific criteria.
  • Ability to perform the listed physical functions, including standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working in confined spaces, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, and exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
  • Ability to maintain the specified corrected vision, depth perception, color discrimination, peripheral vision, hearing, and tactile sensory functions.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • Ability to work in a latex-safe environment.
  • Ability to be physically qualified for respirator use when required for selected positions.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the CT Manager with the daily operations of the BBEMC radiology department.
  • Monitor BBEMC radiology staff, prioritize patient workload, and provide guidance and accountability to team members.
  • Function in all areas of the department and provide quality imaging and patient care within two or more imaging modalities, including computed tomography and X-ray.
  • Explain procedures effectively to patients and ensure they are competent in the procedure being performed.
  • Produce images for interpretation or at the request of a licensed practitioner.
