Requirements
  • Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Must have 1 to 2 years of Call Center Representative experience in a fast-paced office; experience in a medical or community mental health office is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Must have the ability to learn new software.
  • Must provide one form of non-expired picture identification: an unexpired passport, a driver's license and Social Security card, or a state identification card and Social Security card.
  • Must live in the tri-state area.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to the Bronx clinic for approximately 45–60 days of in-person training before transitioning to a fully remote role.
  • Must be able to cope with position-related mental and emotional stress, function independently, and maintain flexibility, consistency, and professionalism.
  • Must develop and sustain safe, positive, and productive work habits and comply with NYPCC policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Answer inbound calls professionally using a customer service communication framework.
  • Follow up on inbound calls by finding resolutions, documenting or relaying messages, and handling soft transfers as needed.
  • Assist with appointment scheduling calls, follow up on missed appointments, and make outbound appointment confirmation calls.
  • Triage callers and calls to determine whether they involve requests or inquiries, complaints, or grievances; escalate or resolve issues and conduct service recovery.
  • Identify and escalate emergency distress or client safety concerns to Senior Clerical for guidance or further escalation to management or clinical supervisors.
  • Document and complete Call Center Forms for data call logs, and fulfill surveys and reports issued by the Call Center Supervisor as needed.
  • Complete Call Center task assignments provided by the management team.
  • Maintain daily and weekly phone operations performance metrics and goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with case management intake calls when needed for coverage and staff call-outs.
  • Support the clinical team and maintain charts as needed.
  • Perform other duties and tasks assigned by the Senior Clerical Team and Call Center Supervisor.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a medical or community mental health office is preferred.
