- Graduate of an approved school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Alabama or Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
- Three years of experience as a registered nurse in a surgical setting, including one year of leadership experience.
- Lead the Main Operating Room and oversee the day-to-day operations of an inpatient 24/7 nursing department.
- Allocate resources and coordinate services to optimize patient care and services.
- Provide leadership for quality and service activities to promote a culture of safety for patients, families, and staff.
- Establish a healthy work environment that supports the growth, challenge, and development of team members.
- Analyze, develop, and maintain an effective nursing delivery model that reflects patient and family needs.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on quality of life, consumer choice, risk-benefit decisions, and access.
- Manage team members, including recruitment, retention, supervision, evaluation, and productivity.
- Assist in developing and monitoring operating and capital budgets, resolve variances, and implement efficiency and cost-reduction strategies.
- Ensure development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based clinical nursing practice consistent with nursing research and organizational and national standards.
- Lead and participate in departmental and hospital programs, committees, and special projects.
- Foster patient, family, and professional relationships characterized by mutual respect and professional growth.
- Cultivate exemplary customer service throughout the department.
- Serve as a liaison between team members and nursing administration.
- Maintain professional accountability, role proficiency, and involvement in professional organizations.
- Facilitate and support team member participation in professional and organizational activities.
- Identify issues arising from individual differences and develop awareness among nursing staff, medical staff, and other healthcare providers.
- Serve as a mentor for professional practice.
- Manage human resources functions, including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with applicable policies and standards.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Master of Science in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a graduate degree in business or a health-related field preferred.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification may be required based on the assigned patient population.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course certification may be required based on the assigned patient population.
