Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required at a minimum.
  • A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred; additional relevant experience, technical training, and industry certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • At least five years of professional experience supporting enterprise telecommunications or unified communications environments is required.
  • At least three years of hands-on experience administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco Unified Communications Manager and associated Cisco collaboration technologies is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with Cisco Unified Border Element or Session Border Controllers, Session Initiation Protocol, voice gateways, dial plans, call routing, and advanced voice troubleshooting is required.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate certification is required.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification or another Department of Defense 8140-compliant certification appropriate to the position is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, and Cisco Unified Border Element or Session Border Controller technologies is required.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring and troubleshooting Session Initiation Protocol trunks, voice gateways, dial plans, call routing, and Cisco IP endpoints is required.
  • Strong understanding of Voice over Internet Protocol technologies and protocols, including Session Initiation Protocol, Real-time Transport Protocol, Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol, Quality of Service, and associated network services is required.
  • Ability to analyze Session Initiation Protocol signaling and call flows and perform advanced troubleshooting of complex voice and unified communications issues is required.
  • Working knowledge of system upgrades, patching, backups, certificate management, and configuration management is required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, configuration records, and troubleshooting procedures is required.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for prolonged periods, and twist, bend, and squat periodically is required.
  • A current Public Trust security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for the Public Trust clearance at this location.
Responsibilities
  • Administer, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco Unified Communications Manager and associated unified communications infrastructure.
  • Configure and support Cisco Unified Border Element or Session Border Controller functionality, Session Initiation Protocol trunks, voice gateways, and call routing.
  • Administer and maintain Cisco Unity Connection and associated voicemail services.
  • Configure and maintain dial plans, route patterns, translation patterns, calling search spaces, partitions, device pools, and other Cisco Unified Communications Manager components.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and fault isolation for voice, signaling, call-routing, endpoint, gateway, and interoperability issues.
  • Analyze Session Initiation Protocol signaling and call flows to identify and resolve complex voice service issues.
  • Perform system configuration changes, software upgrades, patches, backups, restores, and certificate management.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco IP phones, analog gateways, and other voice endpoints and associated devices.
  • Support integration between Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unified Border Element or Session Border Controllers, public switched telephone network and carrier services, and other enterprise communications systems.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, and alarms and take corrective action as required.
  • Maintain accurate system configurations, diagrams, inventories, technical documentation, and change records.
  • Support incident response and restoration of unified communications services during outages and other service-impacting events.
  • Coordinate with network, cybersecurity, carrier, vendor, and customer personnel to resolve technical issues and implement system changes.
  • Ensure unified communications systems are maintained in accordance with applicable Department of Defense cybersecurity, security, configuration management, and technical requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to telecommunications technicians and other support personnel as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of telecommunications and unified communications operations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional Collaboration certification is preferred.
