Apply a user-centered approach, design-thinking techniques, and other forms of user research to gather insights from experts and field users that inform digital-product and experience strategies, execution, and adoption optimization throughout the product-development lifecycle. Plan, manage, and facilitate cross-functional workshops with business and technology teams and stakeholders to define opportunities, and transform business and user requirements into experience concepts and strategies. Ensure digital products and experiences effectively meet both user and business needs by grounding concept development, decisionmaking, and prioritization in research and insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, lead, and conduct qualitative and quantitative product and user research throughout the product and experience concepting, development, and management lifecycle.
- Plan, manage, lead, and facilitate workshops, design-thinking processes, and adoption-analysis processes with global and cross-functional teams of business, product, business architecture, UX design, and technology partners and stakeholders.
- Analyze, report, and present findings to partners and stakeholders at multiple levels within the organization.
- Lead product-team conversations to convert research insights to user stories and prioritize them for action.
- Collaborate with business, product, business-architecture, UX design, and technology partners to create and refine experience artifacts such as journey maps, jobs-to-be-done analyses, service blueprints, user flows, and information architecture models based on insights captured through research and workshops with subject-matter experts and users.
- Work directly with product teams to identify opportunities and advocate for field input and research across the product lifecycle, and aligned with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Represent field insights and user perspective throughout the strategy, concepting, development, and ongoing measurement and iteration phases of the product- and experience-development lifecycle.
- Consult with and mentor others within the organization in effective facilitation, workshop management, and user-centered design and insights techniques and tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent required.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience required.
- Proficient knowledge of user-centered design processes, digital-product best-practices, and related disciplines such as information architecture.
- Experience conducting qualitative user or field research.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to clearly articulate research insights and their relationship to business and product requirements and outcomes.
- Proficient documentation skills to convey insights through experience artifacts such as journey maps, user flows, and service blueprints.
- Ability to work in both waterfall and Agile project processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with principles and techniques including design sprints, co-creation methods, behavioral design and research, service design and research.
- 3+ years of experience researching or designing highly complex digital applications from a user centered standpoint.
- Experience conducting field research for complex application ecosystems for specialized user groups.
- Experience working within financial services industry preferred; experience in other highly regulated environments also considered.
- Ability to review, interpret, and align business and product requirements documents with a user-centered perspective.
- Fundamental understanding of Agile methodology, and project-management and business-process-management concepts.
- Strong storytelling and presentation skills, process flexibility, and comfort leading rooms of people at all levels of an organization.

The estimated base salary for this role is $98,100 - $132,400 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
