Route Delivery Driver
About the job
- Hold a Class A commercial driver's license.
- Safely operate material-handling and delivery equipment.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull products and materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Perform repetitive bending, stooping, climbing, and other physical duties required to safely complete essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Follow established quality, safety, and performance standards.
- Follow assigned start and closing times, break periods, and overtime requirements.
- Safely deliver products to customers and make will-call pickups from vendors.
- Pick orders, load trucks, unload trucks, and operate material-handling and delivery equipment.
- Ensure all deliveries are made to customers in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance working relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Report issues and opportunities observed at customer sites to the warehouse manager and operations manager.
- Ensure products are delivered safely and in a presentable manner.
- Ensure incoming and outgoing products meet or exceed company specifications and are handled and stored properly.
- Ensure correct order pulling and timely product delivery to customers.
- Meet customer delivery dates and report late-delivery status to the warehouse manager, operations manager, or general manager.
- Make recommendations for improved methods, systems, and procedures.
- Attend monthly meetings with warehouse and delivery personnel to assess safety and quality-control issues and review material-handling processes.
- Perform pallet pickup and exchange with customers and vendors.
- Perform other duties required by the warehouse manager.
