Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in a desktop support or IT service desk role is required.
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 configurations and support across multiple hardware platforms is required.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in network troubleshooting, printer configuration, and technical support.
  • Ability to implement, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain infrastructure devices and technologies.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to unfamiliar technologies, products, and systems using technical documentation, online resources, and independent research.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%–35% between the Hamden, Connecticut and Crossville, Tennessee locations as necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop support.
  • Manage the IT service desk ticket queue.
  • Maintain hardware and peripheral equipment.
  • Support infrastructure projects and serve as a resource for end users across the EZ Form and Intelliconnect locations.
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for future hardware and organizational technology needs.
  • Support the development and implementation of new computer projects and hardware installations.
  • Research and recommend hardware products for procurement and development efforts.
  • Support the development and implementation of networking and wiring projects and installations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of networking and wiring contracts and supervise contract-based installations.
  • Identify and deliver required hardware service levels according to organizational policies, and recommend, schedule, and perform hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Provide training and support to end users and staff on equipment operation and related issues.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user software and networking software products.
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex hardware problems, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including off-site repair when needed.
  • Respond to incoming calls, tickets, and emails regarding hardware problems and comprehensively document hardware failures, repairs, installations, and removals.
  • Maintain current knowledge of hardware and equipment contracts and supervise contract-based installations.
  • Provide guidance to junior team members as required.
  • Manage the input/output fleet, including printers and scanners.
  • Oversee deployment and testing or monitoring of building battery backups.
  • Liaise with third-party support and equipment vendors as necessary.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365, Jira Service Management, Confluence Documentation, Active Directory, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Proficiency with mobile and telecommunications devices and services such as Dialpad or other voice-over-internet-protocol systems, and various cell phone platforms.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to visualize solutions and provide specific, detailed information to customers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
