CPCS Slinger certification.
Competency in CAT use.
NRSWA accreditation to Operative standard.
Knowledge of excavation and sub-structure work.
Understanding of RAMS.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
Competency using power tools such as hydraulic breakers and disc saws.
Ability to work at height, mainly using a small step ladder, and to work effectively with a crew partner.
Responsibilities
Transport digital units from the depot to installation sites via an HGV truck after training.
Break ground and install digital units.
Replace component-level parts on digital units.
Work with a crew partner to manage workloads within agreed timescales and in partnership with other local teams.
Follow the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015.
Ensure traffic management is in place before starting work, including segregation and prevention measures to keep unauthorised people out of the work area.
Follow health and safety policies, site-specific risk assessments, and method statements.
Correctly use equipment, including equipment for working at height, and maintain and keep tools and equipment safe on site.

We’re excited to be working on some interesting projects this year and now looking for Construction Operatives to join our growing team in St Helens.
What will you be doing?
You’ll be working as part of a two-person crew, spending most of your day breaking up ground and replacing / installing new digital units and bus shelters for our local communities. You’ll must be willing to train to drive a HGV Class 2 Vehicle to help you do this.
This role will involve travelling to sites (roadsides and public areas) in the North West area, plus occasional travel further afield and some night working dependent upon business needs - sufficient notice will be given with lodgings and reasonable overnight expenses provided.
You’ll receive an attractive salary of £35,900, which will increase once you have passed your HGV Class 2 training , plus annual bonus, paid annual leave 25 days plus bank holidays, opportunities for training and development and fully expensed tools and PPE.
It’s a physically demanding role which requires you to work at height, mainly using a small step ladder, so you’ll need to be a team player and watch/help out your crew partner.
If you’re not Class 2 HGV qualified then we’ll train you up and cover the costs, however you must be able to commute independently to and from our St Helens Depot in your own transport.
