Requirements
  • Fundamental understanding of battery technology, and high-voltage safety and battery controls
  • Solid understanding of engineering first principles and system engineering
  • Understanding of BMS hardware and software system engineering
  • Background with modeling and scripting tools like MATLAB and Python
  • Ability to solve open-ended engineering problems using systems level thinking
  • Field(s) of study: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program at an accredited university
  • Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS)
Responsibilities
  • Support system architecture definition by running trade-off studies and feasibility analysis for upcoming high voltage battery programs
  • Carry out data analysis to root cause field failures and help drive resolution to critical issues for early prototype vehicles
  • Work with manufacturing to help define End of Line procedure to meet cycle time requirements while ensuring the battery meets essential quality metrics
  • Support battery safety concept definition and work closely with test team to define test objectives and pass/fail criteria
