Requirements
  • A high school diploma, General Educational Development credential, or equivalent experience is required.
  • TIPS or CARE beverage service certification is required or must be obtainable.
  • At least one year of previous guest service experience is required.
  • Demonstrated customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform repetitive work in a fast-paced environment are required.
  • Ability to speak, understand, and write English is required to meet guests’ needs.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally throughout the shift is required.
  • Ability to walk, stand, carry, and move about the property continuously throughout the shift is required.
Responsibilities
  • Serve food and beverages to guests using proper serving techniques and provide friendly, courteous, and professional service.
  • Anticipate and respond to guest needs in a friendly, positive, and timely manner.
  • Follow directions from the banquet captain and event planner.
  • Set up, maintain, and take down banquet rooms according to function specifications after service or events.
  • Bus trays promptly and keep banquet areas and meeting rooms neat, clean, and presentable.
  • Follow health regulations and local liquor laws.
  • Use banquet collateral and equipment properly and follow cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area while serving food and beverages in accordance with company and applicable regulations.
  • Follow hotel procedures for guest and associate incidents and remain knowledgeable about hotel emergency procedures.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize duties to produce the required workload.
  • Follow attendance policies, grooming and appearance standards, work rules, and department procedures.
  • Attend required department and hotel meetings.
  • Assist bartenders and collaborate with other employees to meet guest needs.
  • Complete assigned duties within or outside the normal scope of responsibilities.
  • Complete required side work and assist wherever necessary.
  • Contribute to the guest experience and overall success of the function.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of previous serving experience in a banquet environment is preferred.
