About the job

Requirements
  • A track record shipping responsive web applications that perform well on phones and tablets in the field as well as on desktop.
  • Experience building resilient applications that handle intermittent connectivity through local caching, retry behavior, and recovery from interrupted sessions.
  • Deep React and TypeScript skills, with polished customer-facing web applications in production.
  • Product and user-experience judgment to identify confusing interactions, improve incomplete designs, and collaborate in Figma.
  • Skill building data-dense, high-stakes interfaces such as dashboards, real-time monitoring, alerts, and complex workflows, with sound data-visualization instincts.
  • Comfort designing asynchronous and AI-assisted workflows involving streaming responses, long-running tasks, evidence, confidence, approvals, and human overrides.
  • Ability to take a feature from concept to production with minimal direction.
  • Command of integrating with application programming interfaces, asynchronous services, and data-intensive systems.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility, including semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, focus management, screen-reader support, and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
  • Ability to debug across browser, network, application programming interface, and production environments.
  • Portfolio or work samples showing polished mobile and desktop interfaces, dashboards, data visualization, and complex workflows.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the country where the role is based.
Responsibilities
  • Own frontend architecture and implementation for customer-facing products across mobile, tablet, and desktop, partnering closely with product and design.
  • Build responsive interfaces for field users working on tablets and phones in conditions including bad lighting, gloved hands, time pressure, and spotty connectivity.
  • Build end-to-end features alongside AI, data, and backend engineers, shaping services, integrations, and application programming interface contracts.
  • Turn ambiguous, operationally complex problems and AI outputs into clear, intuitive interfaces.
  • Prototype quickly, observe real users in the field, and iterate based on what is learned.
  • Establish component patterns, automated testing, accessibility, performance, and engineering standards from scratch.
  • Evolve the visual system and interaction patterns with product and design.
  • Shape hiring and engineering culture as part of the founding team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Next.js and modern frontend tooling.
  • Experience with AI-augmented or agentic products.
  • Experience with component libraries or design systems at scale.
  • Startup, founding-engineer, or zero-to-one background.
  • Experience building software for industrial, operational, or field users.
  • Experience with real-time data, streaming interfaces, and complex application state.
