The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.
As part of a passionate and accomplished team, you will apply broad multi-disciplinary engineering (mechanical and electrical/electronic) knowledge, skills, and methods as well as computer/software systems to design and engineer the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support. You will design, implement, install, maintain, and administer infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations as well as perform root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures.

Responsibilities:
- Build Spacecraft EGSE Systems, Design Circuits, and Compose Interconnection Designs
- Lead the architecture, design, and fabrication of cost-effective test equipment solutions using a mixture of custom and vendor hardware. Equipment includes a wide mix of data acquisition, command, control, and protection systems.
- Collaborate with Test, Systems and Flight Hardware Design Engineers developing features, functionality, and safety requirements for EGSE. Insure EGSE meets these requirements and delivery schedules.
- Integrate control, data acquisition and archival hardware with the Integrated Ground System (IGS) spacecraft testing software.
- Develop, document and author EGSE System Design Descriptions, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Requirements Cross Verification Matrix, Bill of Materials (BOMs)
- Create schematics, specifications, and Statements of Work for hardware and design services procurement from internal and external vendors.
- Compose Test Plans, Test Procedures, and conduct EGSE verification tests and commissioning.
- Support and/or author Design Review presentation material & documentation
- Participate in test readiness review, pre and post test briefings, and post test reviews.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. or higher degree in Software or Engineering related field.
- 5+ years of EGSE hardware and/or software development experience
- Proven software development in LabVIEW software portfolio
- Experience in full lifecycle of Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) hardware and software engineering. Including: system design; architecting requirements gathering; hardware design, software implementation and verification, system integration, and release.
- Confirmed skills in build automation, continuous integration, configuration management, verification, and deployment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
- Experience working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiar with version control
- Intermediate skill level using NI Hardware
- NI LabVIEW FPGA
- NI LabVIEW Real-Time
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or system integration labs (SIL)
- Demonstrated experience where quick-thinking and problem solving plays a critical role
- Experience with requirements development/management tools; DOORS, DOORS Next Gen and lifecycle management (PLM) and/or data, Windchill
- Hands-on testing experience in thermal, vibration, shock and vacuum testing on flight hardware in accordance with MIL-STD-810, SMC-S-016 and MIL-STD-1540
- Intermediate skill level using NI LabVIEW
- 3+ years previous experience operating test equipment of a similar magnitude
- Experience with writing Hardware and Software Requirements
- Experience with Software Performance Testing with a focus on Latency
- Experience with complex electronics hardware and software systems
- Compliance experience with NPR 7150.2.
- Experience with fault-tolerant software design, human error assessment, and human error prevention and fault tolerance.
- Experience with spacecraft subsystems and associated hardware/software.
