About the job

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Security, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Direct experience with one or more enterprise browser security or zero-trust access platforms, such as LayerX, Spin.AI, Island, Talon, or NordLayer.
  • At least four years of experience in information security, specifically endpoint security or security engineering.
  • Hands-on experience hardening and managing macOS and Windows endpoints at enterprise scale, using mobile device management platforms such as Jamf or Intune, and administering browser policy through consoles such as Google Workspace or Chrome Enterprise.
  • Understanding of laptop hardware and operating systems, including hardware security features such as TPM 2.0, Apple Secure Enclave, Secure Boot, and firmware protections, as well as full-disk encryption with FileVault or BitLocker, including recovery key escrow.
  • Experience with macOS and Windows application control, such as allowlisting or blocklisting with Santa, Microsoft App Control for Business (formerly WDAC), or AppLocker, including running policies in audit mode before enforcement.
  • Working knowledge of media sanitization and device disposal best practices, such as NIST SP 800-88, including when cryptographic erase is sufficient and when physical destruction is required for retired laptops and drives.
  • Working knowledge of browser extensions, including manifest permissions and content scripts, and differences in the security models of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
  • Experience with enterprise identity providers such as Okta or SAML and their intersection with device and browser management.
  • Experience defining and enforcing policies for removable media and data transfer paths, including USB device control, to reduce unauthorized data movement.
  • Experience with endpoint- or browser-based data loss prevention, including its capabilities and limitations and tuning policies without disrupting legitimate work.
  • Experience using enterprise AI tools such as Claude to automate repetitive work and speed investigations.
  • Practical experience using enterprise AI platforms such as Claude or Gemini for structured prompting, log analysis, policy generation, or administrative workflow automation.
Responsibilities
  • Build and tune the policies used by the browser security platform, and partner with the device management team to expand rollout from pilot devices to the full fleet.
  • Automate and refine review and risk scoring of browser extension requests, using AI tools to automate the process over time.
  • Review and validate AI-generated policy logic, scripts, and rule changes before deployment to ensure accuracy and prevent policy bypasses.
  • Partner with identity, legal, and communications teams to take security roadmap milestones from design through launch.
  • Triage employee and business stakeholder exceptions and update underlying policies to prevent recurring one-off requests.
  • Partner with IT across the laptop lifecycle, including secure provisioning, hardware-backed encryption, application blocking, and secure data sanitization when devices or drives are retired or reused.
  • Report fleet risk posture and program progress to security leadership.
  • Develop and refine AI-assisted workflows using enterprise AI tools such as Claude to automate review, risk scoring, and triage of browser extension requests and endpoint policy exceptions.
  • Triage incoming requests for endpoint security exceptions and reviews.
  • Support team initiatives for container security and cloud security.
Desired Qualifications
  • An endpoint or device management certification, such as Jamf Certified Admin, Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, or GIAC GCWN (Certified Windows Security Administrator), or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Comfort working with large-scale data platforms such as Databricks to build reporting and track program metrics.
  • Experience with cloud-based security infrastructure, including prior experience working in both AWS and GCP.
  • Familiarity with container security, Kubernetes, and the container lifecycle.
  • Experience with device provisioning and lifecycle programs such as Apple Business Manager, Windows Autopilot, and Activation Lock management, and with IT asset disposition (ITAD) vendors that provide certificates of sanitization.
  • Demonstrated experience engineering prompts or scripting automated workflows that integrate AI capabilities into security operations pipelines.

Yahoo raises $1.6B with 11% bond yield as Apollo-backed firm refinances debt

Yahoo has raised $1.6 billion in high-yield financing to refinance debt from Apollo Global Management's acquisition of the company. The deal comprises a $700 million term loan B priced at 6.5 percentage points over the US benchmark and $900 million in junk bonds due in 2031 at an 11% yield. The 11% yield represents one of the highest-yielding corporate debt offerings this year, significantly above the 7.2% average for existing B-rated bonds. The refinancing replaces loans from Apollo's 2021 $5 billion buyout of Yahoo from Verizon Communications, which were priced more favourably at 5.5 percentage points over benchmark. Moody's Ratings noted concerns about Yahoo's reliance on desktop traffic and competition from larger players in search advertising, though the deal attracted strong investor interest amid broader high-yield issuance.

Back in 2010 and 2011, Alibaba Group founder and executive chairman and then–chief executive Jack Ma and executive vice chairman Joseph Tsai were under pressure. Executives at Yahoo!, which owned a 40 percent stake in the Chinese e-commerce giant, were under the gun from their own investors to cut corporate debt and extract value from their prized asset, and they wanted to sell down their stake. The problem: The Alibaba executives were struggling to find buyers.
