About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience building and evolving complex software products, with SaaS or distributed systems experience required, including architectural leadership.
  • Proven experience integrating AI/ML or generative AI into customer-facing software and shipping it to production with monitoring and operations.
  • Hands-on experience modernizing data estates, including data modeling, integration, pipelines, lineage, and scalable storage and compute patterns.
  • Experience designing secure AI systems, including threat modeling for prompt injection and data leakage, and model supply-chain controls.
  • Strong understanding of modern data architecture concepts, including curated layers, governance, data products and contracts, and event-driven or streaming architectures where needed.
  • Practical DataOps/MLOps understanding, including environments, CI/CD, promotion gates, drift detection, rollback and incident patterns, and operational monitoring.
  • Ability to write and maintain high-quality architecture artifacts, including blueprints, specifications, architecture decision records, and reference implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business goals and product requirements into end-to-end architecture for customer-facing AI features, such as predictive machine learning, recommendations, generative AI, and agentic workflows.
  • Define integration patterns between product services, data systems, and AI components, including APIs, MCP/A2A, ARG, events, model and agent serving, and evaluation harnesses.
  • Evaluate non-functional requirement tradeoffs and ensure delivery adherence for latency, cost, security, resiliency, and maintainability.
  • Lead modernization of legacy data estates into a governed, scalable architecture using lakehouse or data mesh patterns, curated layers, data products, and contracts.
  • Drive improvements in data quality, lineage, metadata, and discoverability, treating data pipelines as software through versioning, testing, and CI/CD.
  • Establish canonical models and semantic patterns that support analytics and AI/ML workloads, including features and embeddings and training/serving parity.
  • Define standards and reusable patterns for feature stores, model registries, experiment tracking, promotion workflows, drift monitoring, and retraining.
  • Build reference implementations and enable teams to repeatedly ship features, moving from proof of concept to governed production delivery.
  • Own architectural testing and validation practices for AI components, covering quality, robustness, security, and performance.
  • Embed responsible AI and governance controls into the lifecycle, including auditability, transparency, bias and risk considerations, and secure-by-design patterns.
  • Partner with Security, Privacy, and Legal to meet obligations for AI and data systems while maintaining delivery velocity.
  • Act as a technical leader and mentor by clarifying direction, unblocking teams, and raising architecture and engineering standards through reviews, guidance, and coaching.
  • Communicate complex tradeoffs and influence product, engineering, and leadership stakeholders with pragmatic options and clear decisions.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with lakehouse or data mesh transformations at scale and implementation of strong governance and catalog patterns.
