About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience delivering embedded solutions for customers in areas such as robotics, IoT, electronics, embedded systems, advanced sensing, vision, or AI/physical AI.
  • Strong proficiency in embedded C/C++, Python for tooling and test automation, and Git.
  • Experience with embedded Linux and networking, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, and time synchronization such as PTP.
  • Experience developing firmware for resource-constrained devices.
  • Working knowledge of electronics, including reading schematics, leading board bring-up with electrical engineering partners, and understanding power electronics basics such as PWM, current regulation, and thermal limits.
  • Hands-on laboratory skills with oscilloscopes, logic and protocol analyzers, and power measurement equipment, plus awareness of signal-integrity issues on high-speed interfaces.
  • Experience writing unit tests and building automated or hardware-in-the-loop test setups.
  • Ability to take solutions from concept to launch, including detailed designs, and deliver on schedule using Agile methods and project management practices.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybernetics/Robotics, Embedded Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop embedded software across the full stack, from bare-metal/RTOS firmware on microcontrollers to embedded Linux on application processors, including board support packages, drivers, networking, and system services.
  • Select, implement, and validate high-bandwidth digital interfaces, including MIPI CSI-2, PCIe, USB 3.x, and Gigabit Ethernet, and board-level buses including SPI, I²C, UART, and CAN.
  • Interface with, control, and characterize lighting power electronics, including PWM/current control, strobe timing and synchronization with sensors, and bench measurement of performance.
  • Evaluate the technical feasibility of new ideas and lead engineering trade-offs across performance, cost, power, and schedule.
  • Work across hardware, mechanical, test, and software teams, and across cultures, to ensure solutions fit system requirements.
  • Take concepts from prototype through detailed design, verification, and handover to production.
  • Set and maintain engineering practices, including unit and hardware-in-the-loop testing, continuous integration, code review, and design documentation.
  • Develop intellectual property for AutoStore through invention disclosures and patents.
  • Mentor other engineers and share knowledge across the team.

Desired Qualifications

  • Deeper hardware experience, including schematic capture and PCB layout using tools such as Altium or KiCad; design of LED drivers or power conversion circuits; and EMC/EMI experience.
  • Test engineering experience, including designing test fixtures and hardware-in-the-loop rigs, end-of-line/production testing, DVT/PVT and reliability testing, and test frameworks such as pytest.
  • Higher-level software experience, including edge/backend services, containers, messaging and middleware such as MQTT, gRPC, and ROS 2, OTA updates, secure boot, and device security.
  • Domain depth in camera and sensor pipelines, machine vision, edge AI inference using tools such as GStreamer or TensorRT, and radio-based sensors such as RFID and NFC.

About the Company

Autostore

B2B automated warehouse storage and fulfillment

AutoStore provides automated warehouse storage and order-fulfillment systems for businesses, focusing on high-density storage using robotics. Its system uses robots that move on a fixed cube grid to retrieve storage bins and bring them to ports where human pickers assemble orders, with a modular grid, robots, and ports that scale to different warehouse sizes; customers can also pay per pick instead of buying the whole system. The setup emphasizes a cubic, compact layout that maximizes storage density and a goods-to-person flow, with a broad partner network handling design, installation, and service. The goal is to help e-commerce, grocery, healthcare, and 3PL providers automate fulfillment, cut labor costs, and speed up order processing in warehouses.
