Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or an equivalent qualification is preferred, or an Associate of Arts degree and at least five years of management experience.
  • At least five years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or Field Supervisor.
  • A professional license or credential such as International Residential Code, contractor, certified trade, or building energy-efficiency certification.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction field.
  • A current and valid driver’s license.
  • Current vehicle registration and required insurance.
  • Ability to travel to and traverse construction job sites, wear personal protective equipment, navigate trenches and construction debris, climb stairs and ladders, and occasionally enter attics and confined spaces.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend work as duties require.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise daily field inspection services.
  • Lead communication with field staff, scheduling, builders, and trade partners.
  • Oversee regional contracts and ensure operational activities run smoothly.
  • Communicate with builder superintendents, city inspectors, and trades at job sites.
  • Maintain business relationships and communication with builders and trade clients.
  • Supervise daily work and assist with delegating work assignments alongside scheduling.
  • Monitor controllable expenses and manage regional cost of sale.
  • Monitor field metric reports and conduct audits to ensure inspection activities comply with policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, legal requirements, and ethical requirements; escalate issues as necessary.
  • Maintain brand standards, including the appearance and maintenance of self and staff.
  • Manage field staff personal time off, timecards, overtime expense approval, and reporting.
  • Manage regional equipment logistics and inventory.
  • Prepare and deliver training to staff, builders, and trades, and maintain staff certification records.
  • Make authoritative, timely decisions based on knowledge and experience.
  • Supervise and manage employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide professional verbal and written communication.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Hold team members accountable for delivering an exceptional customer experience.
  • Review and monitor sales and service performance against plan, identify gaps and issues, and develop and implement action plans to resolve them.
  • Collaborate with leadership to assess regional strengths, weaknesses, and threats to service quality.
  • Coordinate work schedules and conduct meetings from a home office.
  • Inspect field work, attend trainings, and meet with staff, clients, and trades at job sites.
  • Present information to builders and periodically train staff, clients, and trades on energy code and service inspection requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Direct experience with International Energy Conservation Code, Residential Energy Services Network energy code, and building specialty programs such as Environmental Protection Agency Energy Star, WaterSense, Build It Green, and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.
  • Ability to read building plans.
  • Ability to perform inspections in new construction environments such as attics or tight spaces.
  • Computer competency and office skills for data reporting and metric analysis.
  • Knowledge of building and energy code.
  • Knowledge of residential construction practices.
  • Ability to build strong personal relationships with staff and internal clients.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage required assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Computer skills in Excel and Outlook, with the ability to learn other computer applications.
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds of equipment, climb ladders, and enter attic spaces.
  • Professional affiliation with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning or building science organizations.
  • Experience with green construction concept building.
