Requirements
  • A master's or doctorate degree from an accredited CRNA or AA program is required.
  • For Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists: an active Wisconsin RN license and active national certification from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists are required; candidates must also have or be eligible to obtain active licensure in the state of practice.
  • For Anesthesiologist Assistants: an active Wisconsin Anesthesiologist Assistant license and active national certification from the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants are required; candidates must also have or be eligible to obtain active licensure in the state of practice.
Responsibilities
  • Provide anesthesia care to a complex patient population under the medical direction of UW Department of Anesthesiology faculty anesthesiologists, serving approximately 50% pediatric and 50% adult patients.
  • Collaborate with administrative, nursing, physician, and other staff to ensure safe, effective, quality patient care and promote UW Health’s educational and research missions.
  • Work in an academic setting with opportunities to contribute to SRNA or SAA education.
  • Provide care across a case mix that may include ENT, plastics, GI, neuro, orthopedic trauma, spines, general surgery, transplant, ophthalmology, trauma, cath lab, and outpatient surgery.
