Responsibilities
  • Monitor and research human rights-related developments in assigned geographic regions using unclassified and classified diplomatic and intelligence information, media, international organizations, nongovernmental organizations, and other sources.
  • Maintain expertise in legal and regulatory guidelines related to human rights-related visa restriction authorities, sanctions authorities, asylum, removals, and parole.
  • Provide analysis and guidance to client stakeholders on the implications of human rights-related developments for potential U.S. sanctions, visa restrictions, and immigration matters, and recommend courses of action.
  • Draft, edit, and secure client approval for human rights assessments, action memoranda, and country condition letters supporting sanctions, visa restrictions, and asylum adjudications.
  • Conduct outreach and liaison work concerning human rights-related sanctions, visa restriction authorities, asylum matters, removals, and parole with client stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with client stakeholders to support client officials' execution of human rights-related visa restrictions and sanctions authorities.
  • Coordinate with the client to support officials' execution of certain immigration functions, including asylum, removal, and parole.
  • Work onsite in the main office and accommodate flexible schedules, holidays, business travel, professional-development travel, and work outside normal business hours when requested.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in political science, economics, public administration, business analytics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Advanced degrees are preferred for specialized roles.
  • Ability to synthesize large volumes of information into actionable insights using statistical analysis, qualitative methodologies, and visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with federal operations, procurement, regulations, and public-sector initiatives.
