Carriage Services secures $300M credit facility, cuts borrowing costs and extends maturity to 2031

Carriage Services has closed a new $300 million senior secured revolving credit facility, replacing its previous $250 million facility and increasing borrowing capacity by $50 million. The new facility matures on 30 September 2031 and is expected to reduce the effective borrowing margin by approximately 50 basis points as leverage declines below 4.0x. The Houston-based funeral and cemetery services provider said the facility will support working capital, capital expenditures, strategic acquisitions and refinancing activities. Borrowings bear interest at the Term Secured Overnight Financing Rate plus 1.25% to 2.00%, depending on the company's leverage ratio. JPMorgan Chase Bank serves as administrative agent and lead arranger, with Truist Bank and Regions Bank as joint bookrunners. As of 30 June 2026, Carriage operates 155 funeral homes across 24 states and 28 cemeteries in nine states.

Am I Next? No love at Truist Financial Corporation / rac.

Am I Next? No love at Truist Financial Corporation / rac. Charlotte, North Carolina-based Truist Financial Corporation, an American bank holding company, has announced it will close the Tempe, Arizona facility operated by its Regional Acceptance Corp. subsidiary, an auto finance company that focuses on subprime to near-prime indirect lending, pending an agreement to sell off the loan portfolio of its Regional Acceptance Corp. subsidiary. The closure will impact 120 employees with phased layoffs staged between November 30, 2026, and February 28, 2027. Another 205 employees will be impacted in Arlington, Texas; 56 employees in Winterville, North Carolina; and 97 employees in Greenville, North Carolina. A spokesperson noted, "The company is providing affected employees with severance benefits, job search assistance, and consideration for other roles within Truist." Change is constant, and it's coming. Tomorrow will always come, no matter how much you try to ignore it. Life offers no guarantees, nor promises of a bright future. Am I Next see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it's targeted at someone else? Are you wondering, "Am I Next?"

Truist exits $5.5B auto-loan business, cuts 205 jobs in Texas facility closure

Truist Bank is exiting the auto-finance business and closing its Regional Acceptance Corporation facility in Arlington, Texas, resulting in 205 job losses. The bank has agreed to sell $5.5 billion in near-prime auto loans, representing substantially all of Regional Acceptance's assets. The closure will occur in phases between November 2026 and February 2027. Truist expects to receive approximately $5.2 billion in net proceeds and a $535 million recapture of loan-loss reserves from the transaction. Regional Acceptance, which has operated in auto lending for over four decades, specialises in financing for borrowers outside the prime-credit segment. The business produced approximately break-even pretax earnings during the first half of 2026. Truist said the move will improve its credit profile and generate approximately $945 million in common equity tier 1 capital whilst reducing nonperforming loans.
