Domino's targets Cumbria as pizza chain creates 5,000 jobs. Domino's is aiming to open two new stores in Cumbria as the company embarks on a huge recruitment drive in the final months of 2026. The multinational pizza chain said it is advertising as many as 5,000 vacancies across the UK and Ireland in the lead up to Christmas. A handful of these roles are based in Cumbria - with adverts posted for trainee managers, delivery drivers, and team members at existing stores in Cockermouth, Kendal, and Bowness-on-Windermere. The pizza chain has over 1,400 sites in the UK and Ireland but insists it remains "on the hunt for many more". Two of its targeted locations are Egremont and Ulverston. Any new store also requires good vehicle access for deliveries and parking for delivery drivers and customer collections. Domino's says it can operate in many different types of buildings and cites examples of previous successes - having converted pubs, industrial units, and even a former toilet block into pizza stores in the past. In 2025, Domino's opened its first-ever Pod store - a diminutive modular unit space measuring 720 square feet. The company said that the Pod model will play an important role in its long-term growth strategy, with the aim to reach 2,000 stores across the UK and Ireland. Efforts have also been made to enter new markets in recent months, with the chain rolling out chicken products and a new Italianos pizza range - responding to growing demand for thinner-style pizzas. Newsquest Cumbria has reached out to Domino's for comment regarding the next steps on their targeted stores in Egremont and Ulverston. More Stories
Domino's expands UK dessert menu with Biscoff collaboration. Domino's is expanding its dessert offering in the UK with a new product developed in collaboration with Biscoff, adding a familiar biscuit flavor to one of the pizza chain's established dough-based products. The new Twisted Dough Balls - Biscoff & White Chocolate are available to customers across the UK through Domino's online ordering platform, the Domino's app and participating stores. The launch forms part of a broader effort by the pizza chain to introduce new flavors and extend its menu beyond its core pizza range. The dessert consists of six freshly made Twisted Dough Balls, which are covered in melted white chocolate and finished with Biscoff biscuit crumbs. The combination brings together the soft, baked texture of Domino's dough with the caramelized flavor associated with Biscoff and the sweetness of white chocolate. The collaboration gives Domino's another way to incorporate an established consumer brand into its menu while adapting the flavor profile to one of its own products. Biscoff, the biscuit brand owned by Belgian company Lotus Bakeries, has become a widely used ingredient in desserts, beverages and other food products, creating opportunities for restaurant chains to build limited-time and seasonal offerings around the flavor. For Domino's, the launch also reflects a broader push to give customers more options within a single order. Desserts can provide an additional occasion for menu innovation, particularly as restaurant operators look for ways to increase the range of products available alongside their main meals. Louise Pilkington, Domino's director of innovation, said: "We're always looking for ways to bring customers the flavors they love in a uniquely Domino's way, and this launch does exactly that. [...] From a bold honey chilli chicken pizza inspired by one of the UK's favorite takeaways, to a truly iconic Biscoff and white chocolate dessert, plus the Ranch Dip fans have been asking for, there's something new for every kind of Domino's order." The Biscoff dessert is being introduced alongside other recent additions and changes to Domino's UK menu. The company is also highlighting a honey chilli chicken pizza, which draws inspiration from flavors associated with popular takeaway food in the UK, as well as Ranch Dip, responding to customer demand for the condiment. The additions illustrate how Domino's is using familiar flavors and customer preferences to broaden its menu while maintaining products that can be incorporated into its existing ordering and restaurant operations. The Biscoff collaboration, in particular, gives the chain a recognizable flavor profile that can be paired with its existing dough products. Customers can order the Twisted Dough Balls - Biscoff & White Chocolate through Domino's UK online ordering channels, the Domino's app and at stores across the UK.
Domino's asks Aussies+Kiwis to drop everything* in new campaign via Bureau of Everything. September 14 2026, 9:38 am BY Lynchy No Comments EXCLUSIVE - Domino's has today launched a new brand platform via Bureau of Everything, giving Aussies and Kiwis permission to put literally everything else on hold for a delicious Domino's. Regardless of the consequences. Based on the undeniable truth that when that Domino's box lands, everything else can wait. Drop Everything* It's Domino's(TM) was created to put one very important thing back at the centre of the Domino's brand: craveability. The launch is the culmination of the new partnership between Domino's and Bureau of Everything, covering consumer research, a new brand strategy, design refresh, creative platform development, brand campaign and NPD launch. Says Em Taylor, Strategy Founder at Bureau of Everything: "People told us that there are key moments when Domino's wins, hands down. Because it's the choice that truly pleases everyone, it crushes all the cravings in one order. Which in a world of overwhelming options makes it a clear fave. We've built the strategy and platform around that truth." Domino's Head of Brand and Campaigns ANZ, Teneille Papp said the new platform has been designed to build a stronger and more distinctive Domino's brand over the long term. Says Papp: "In a market this crowded, cutting through takes a platform, not a campaign, built to flex across everything we do while staying unmistakably Domino's. Bolder, fresher, food creative so visceral it makes you want to lick the screen and a voice truly in on the joke, built to turn a transaction into a craving." The platform has been developed for the long term, and launches with a campaign that sets up the Drop Everything* It's Domino's(TM) idea in some pretty extreme circumstances. Which have resulted in some fun conversations with the legal department. Says Cam Blackley, Creative Founder at Bureau of Everything: "There is an asterisk baked into the endline. It's the creative wink from the brand that gives Domino's permission to flex a more irreverent muscle in any moment or media channel. Keeping the brand entertaining any time it shows up and theoretically indemnifying Campaign Brief As against the overly literal that walk among Campaign Brief As. Fingers crossed. "The asterisk isn't the only distinctive asset in our arsenal. There is also a new graphic design system that feels fresher and undeniably Domino's; partnered with an editorial photography style that celebrates the mess and joy of nailing a slice." The platform launch marks a new era for Domino's, putting great-tasting food, personality and the simple joy of delicious pizza firmly back at the centre of the experience. It's a shift that will be felt across the brand - from product and partnerships to the experience, advertising and how Domino's shows up in culture - while continuing to deliver the convenience, connection and value that have made it a firm favourite. Says Domino's Australia Chief Marketing Officer, Dewald Du Plooy: "The new platform is about putting personality and food desire back at the heart of the brand. There's a moment when Domino's arrives where whatever was happening before suddenly doesn't seem quite as important. Someone opens the box, everyone moves in and the rest can wait. Drop Everything* It's Domino's(TM) is about owning that feeling. We want to remind Australians that Domino's is the ultimate people pleaser - hot, fresh, fast and able to crush a whole lot of different cravings in one order." The new brand campaign will run in Australian and New Zealand across TV, OOH, digital and social, with PR, cultural moments and a few other surprises along the way. The brand campaign is designed to run alongside NPD throughout the year. First cab off the rank: the return of Domino's iconic 16-inch New Yorker range. Strategically launched during the Aussie kickoff of the NFL season on Friday 11 September, the campaign puts the flex of the Drop Everything platform on show, adding a healthy dose of New York attitude into the mix.
