Responsibilities
  • Responsible for learning all aspects of overall distribution center operations; to include customer service, asset management, financials, and team members.
  • Training to oversee all aspects of operations within our distribution center, including physical assets, operating costs, safety, loss prevention, inventory integrity, and team members.
  • Learning all aspects of customer service to the stores by maintaining on time delivery, accuracy of shipments and good customer relations.
  • Learning daily operational tasks of a DC to ensure day to day compliance with company operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Learning all areas of team member relations to facilitate training, guidance, and counseling as needed to DC team member.
  • Responsible for the management of all salary and hourly team members.
  • Learning how to provide excellent leadership throughout the DC, while working to ensure productivity and morale are maintained at a high level.
  • Cross training with DC Manager and Regional Director to establish annual goals for a distribution center as well as the development plan that will be followed to accomplish goals.
  • Learning how to partner with Human Resources to develop overall team member support and effective recruiting, hiring, and training practices.
  • Understanding the DC evaluation process and importance of timely evaluations.
  • Cross training with DC Manager and Regional Director to prepare annual operating, labor, and capital expenditure budgets for a distribution center.
  • Learning the expense approval processes for distribution centers and training on how to efficiently provide expense approvals while watching all DC spending/budgets.
  • Training in all areas of the distribution center to understand the O’Reilly warehouse management system and all related technology, devices and programs utilized to manage the warehouse operation.
  • Cross training with DC Transportation Supervisor and Corporate Transportation team to understand all Transportation systems, equipment/technology, Federal and State DOT regulations, and the O’Reilly route bid process.
  • Training with our Legal and HR teams in all areas of union avoidance, as well as completion of all related courses.
  • Training to ensure a safe working environment and aggressive management of all risk and risk related costs.
Desired Qualifications
  • College degree or logistics certification.
  • Four years or more of successful management or assistant management in a distribution center.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
