Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gardena Police Department/City-issued Casino Work Permit.
  • One to three years of general maintenance experience.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to operate and charge a scissor lift.
  • Ability to use a hand snake and general tools.
  • Basic knowledge of air handler filter replacement.
  • Basic knowledge of sink and drain clog clearing.
  • Experience with tile floor cleaning.
  • General knowledge of felt replacement.
  • Ability to examine issues strategically and tactically.
  • Ability to carry out detailed tasks and projects with minimal direction or supervision.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and succinctly in letters, memos, and reports.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to safely lift a minimum of 75 pounds without restrictions.
  • Ability to reach overhead, bend, kneel, carry products, climb ladders, and perform physical maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to work in an enclosed, busy, fast-paced environment with numerous distractions.
  • Ability to concentrate and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Perform most repairs and maintenance assignments.
  • Perform semi-specialized assignments and general maintenance tasks throughout the Casino property.
  • Perform general plumbing duties, such as clearing sink and drain clogs.
  • Perform general refrigeration, heating, and air-conditioning maintenance, such as replacing air-handler filters.
  • Assist with painting, carpentry, and remodeling throughout the Casino property, including tile-floor cleaning, fluorescent-light replacement, and shuffle-machine replacement.
  • Assist with moving Casino game tables, chairs, office furniture, and supplies as needed.
  • Follow the Casino safety policy and State Health Department regulations.
  • Assist the Facilities Manager and supervisors as needed.
  • Perform other work-related duties assigned by the Facilities Manager.
Desired Qualifications
  • Maintenance certification preferred.
