What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Lead development of connected car systems including design, testing, Integration and quality.
- Responsible for defining comprehensive system-level requirements and ensuring seamless integration of state-of-the-art connected functions into the vehicle ecosystem.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to optimize the interaction between connected services, vehicle hardware, and software, to enhance overall vehicle performance, connectivity, and user experience.
- Proven ability to define innovative methods for integrating IoT devices into the vehicle ecosystem. Develop novel solutions to enable seamless communication between IoT devices and vehicle systems, ensuring compatibility, scalability, and system performance.
- Analytical development using model-based design, MBSE/MBD simulation toolsets, MIL/SIL/HIL.
- Be a champion of 1st principles design methodology and use extensive problem-solving methods for debugging and issue resolution.
- Lead sprint planning and daily standup meetings.
- Develop and maintain Best Practices: Design Standards, Test Procedures, Technical Specifications, etc.
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Fremont, CA. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
What you’ll bring

- 5 to 7 + yrs. (preferably PhD with 6+ yrs.) of experience in EE/SW engineering
- Extensive experience working with connected car technologies, telematics, and backend systems including interactions with different vehicle SW/HW modules.
- Expertise in leading the integration and definition of connected car features, including over the air updates, remote commands, data acquisition, and diagnostics.
- Extensive experience on Vehicle communication and diagnostic protocols: CAN, LIN, DoIP, Automotive Ethernet and Vehicle Network tools, such as CANalyzer, Canoe, etc.
- Experience in developing Proof of Concepts (PoC), conducting Bench and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, and managing various suppliers and vendors for connectivity modules and related equipment or services.
- Expertise in complex problem-solving and data analysis, with the ability to access, interpret, and drive results in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive design and development processes, system requirements, and engineering best practices such as ASPICE, ISO 26262, as well as homologation and cybersecurity standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, combined with a high standard of integrity

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $150,000-$180,000
