About the company

Aeris Communications provides wireless connectivity services for machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. It runs a software-defined IoT network that manages and secures device communications, enabling devices to stay connected across borders and networks. The platform supports a global footprint, with devices deployed in many countries, and is designed for reliability in mission-critical applications. Compared to competitors, Aeris expanded rapidly by acquiring Ericsson’s IoT Accelerator and Connected Vehicle Cloud, boosting its device base from about 15 million to over 100 million across 190 countries and giving it a larger, more integrated IoT ecosystem. The company’s goal is to enable scalable, secure, and globally available IoT connectivity for customers in sectors like automotive telematics, fleet management, and utilities, helping them deploy and manage devices and data at scale.

Aeris launches SGP.32 eSIM orchestration for 110M IoT devices in Physical AI push

Aeris has launched its next-generation eSIM Orchestrator for IoT connectivity management, adding support for the GSMA SGP.32 specification. The platform now manages 110 million IoT devices, with 44 million using eSIM technology—representing over 40% of its installed base, compared to 12% for the broader market. The enhanced solution introduces three key capabilities: automated profile management through the SGP.32 eSIM Orchestrator, Single SKU eSIM for simplified global deployment, and eSIM as a Service (eIMaaS) for flexible operations. OEMs can now build single device variants for worldwide deployment rather than creating market-specific versions. Aeris serves over 7,000 enterprise customers, with devices connecting in more than 200 countries monthly. The platform provides access to 30 mobile network operators and supports all three generations of eSIM standards. Frost & Sullivan recognised Aeris as a Global Competitive Strategy Leader for IoT connectivity management in 2025 and 2026.

Suresh Sathyamurthy joins Aeris as CMO for physical AI push. September 2, 2026 Former Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks and Dell EMC executive Suresh Sathyamurthy has joined Aeris as chief marketing officer. In his new role, Sathyamurthy will lead Aeris' marketing, communications and go-to-market strategy as the company expands into securing and connecting physical AI, the emerging category of autonomous vehicles, robotics and intelligent machines operating in the physical world. The appointment comes at a pivotal moment for Aeris. "Aeris has spent years earning the trust of enterprises who depend on us to keep their most critical assets connected and secure. As physical AI reshapes how the world moves, builds and operates, our customers need a partner who can match that pace," said Aziz Benmalek, the chief executive and a board director at Aeris. "Suresh brings the experience and vision, and I'm confident he'll help us scale with the speed and ambition this market demands." Sathyamurthy added: "AI is moving off the screen and into the physical world, powering autonomous fleets, robotics and intelligent infrastructure everywhere. Few companies have the connectivity and security foundation Aeris has built over the years. I'm excited to build on that foundation and work alongside Aziz and the team to lead this next era of growth."
