About the company

Labric provides automated data integration and AI-powered analysis tools for materials science R&D. It builds custom data infrastructure through a white-glove service that connects and structures data from lab equipment and spreadsheets, eliminating manual data wrangling and enabling immediate insights via smart visualizations and experiment reports. The company differentiates itself by delivering end-to-end, tailor-made data infrastructure for scientific teams, backed by the founders’ combined expertise in computer science and materials science. Its goal is to make scientific data easily accessible and to accelerate discovery by making research data management more efficient.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • The August 2026 careers page still advertises active hiring and product building.
  • Labric targets acute lab pain: post-its, spreadsheets, and instrument data silos.
  • AI-ready datasets and natural-language queries match rising scientific automation demand in 2026.

What critics are saying

  • Two-person team and June 2025 $500K seed leave little runway for enterprise sales.
  • YC and startup directories show no public customers, creating weak proof by September 2026.
  • If instrument integrations stall, Labric becomes a services shop, not software, by 2027.

What makes Labric unique

  • YC Spring 2025 backed Labric sells a lab-specific data layer, not generic analytics.
  • Connor and Caitlin Hogan combine Stanford computer science and materials science backgrounds.
  • Its white-glove custom infrastructure service fits messy scientific workflows competitors ignore.
