Senior Move Assistant
About the job
- Genuinely enjoy working with older adults and have patience for emotional, sometimes slow-moving days.
- Be able to stay active on your feet and lift and carry boxes across a roughly six-hour shift.
- Have reliable personal transportation and a working smartphone.
- Pass a background check.
- Be available for flexible, as-needed part-time work during Monday through Friday business hours, roughly 10 to 20 hours per week.
- Work alongside clients and families to sort, pack, and label belongings with patience and care.
- Unpack and resettle the new home so it is move-in ready, including making beds, organizing the kitchen, and hanging photos.
- Bring steadiness and warmth to an emotional day, listening when appropriate while keeping the work moving.
- Coordinate with the move manager and the receiving senior living community so nothing falls through the cracks.
- On shifts as Move Shift Lead, serve as the point of contact for the client, manager, and receiving senior community; walk the layout and measurements with the client, direct the crew through the day, and ensure the job closes out cleanly.
- Be interested in eventually running jobs and progressing beyond working shifts.
