  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical wire harness design and release, and relevant automotive assignments, covering all phases of product development (design, test, and launch).
  • Strong technical skills and expertise in wire harness component design and release, employing a six-sigma approach to engineering design and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels.
Responsibilities
  • Designing low voltage (LV) wiring harnesses including schematics, bill of material, component selection, and wire harness prints.
  • Working with Purchasing and Finance counterparts to develop technical specifications for harnesses and components.
  • Defining and releasing all LV wire harnesses in collaboration with key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Performing virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
  • Ensuring designs conform to safety standards and U.S. government regulations.
  • Staying attuned to consumer experience and proposing system improvements.
  • Contributing to the design of production facilities for Scout trucks & SUVs.
  • Managing supplier resources efficiently to deliver wire harness designs that meet cost, timing, and quality targets.
