Requirements
  • Experience as a pipe welder or pipe fitter.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • A clean motor vehicle record and a valid Georgia driver's license.
  • Troubleshooting and time-management skills.
  • Ability to tolerate prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
  • Ability to handle items weighing more than 50 pounds when required.
Responsibilities
  • Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, isometric drawings, weld symbols, and specifications.
  • Perform pipe welding using gas tungsten arc welding (TIG), shielded metal arc welding (stick), gas metal arc welding (MIG), and flux-cored arc welding processes as required.
  • Weld pipe in multiple positions, including 2G, 5G, and 6G.
  • Prepare pipe for welding by beveling, grinding, fitting, cleaning, and aligning materials.
  • Ensure proper root gaps, fit-up, and weld quality before and during welding.
  • Complete welds that meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
  • Perform visual inspections of completed welds and correct defects as necessary.
  • Operate grinders, torches, plasma cutters, pipe beveling equipment, and other fabrication tools.
  • Maintain weld continuity and complete required documentation.
  • Work with pipe fitters, inspectors, supervisors, and quality personnel to meet project requirements.
  • Follow established welding procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and specifications to determine piping-system layout and requirements.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and fit pipe to required dimensions using hand tools and power tools.
  • Perform pipe layout, alignment, and fit-up for welding and installation.
  • Inspect materials and completed work for proper fit, alignment, and compliance with specifications.
  • Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Fabricate and assemble piping components, supports, and systems.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following safety procedures and company guidelines.
  • Document completed work, including welds performed, inspections, deviations, and follow-up actions.
  • Communicate with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel to support project completion.
