Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Lead a security culture, including crisis response, a strong safety environment, and crowd-management planning, while supporting guests and team members.
  • Implement daily and weekly Assets Protection workload priorities to support business priorities and deliver goals.
  • Respond to external and internal theft incidents and prevent future theft.
  • Implement strategic resolutions of external theft and fraud and apprehend individuals attempting to cause a loss in accordance with Target policy and leadership guidance.
  • Partner with, educate, and support store business leaders on operational shortage priorities.
  • Lead a team of hourly team members, including interviewing, developing, evaluating, and retaining talent.
  • Deliver guest-experience commitments and ensure team members understand, are trained on, and consistently deliver those commitments and consistent operations.
  • Observe performance, provide feedback, hold team members accountable, and recognize effective guest-experience behaviors.
  • Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action to improve results, and align the team on execution.
  • Support total-store sales and profitability by ensuring products are in stock and available; welcome and engage guests at the front of the store and on the salesfloor.
  • Validate physical-security and safety processes, participate in emergency crisis responses, and create security plans for in-store events.
  • Support store leadership in educating teams on emergency preparedness and physical-security procedures.
  • Develop, coach, and lead team members to improve their skills and expertise.
  • Anticipate staffing needs and support talent planning through clear expectations and performance management.
  • Identify theft and shortage trends and key shortage risks, then support leaders in developing tactics to reduce shortage and drive profitable sales.
  • Work a schedule aligned with guest and business needs, including early-morning, overnight, evening, and weekend shifts.
  • Develop team schedules and adjust them based on security and theft trends with leader validation.
  • Own the prevention, identification, and resolution of external theft incidents, including merchandise-protection budgeting and policy-compliant apprehensions.
  • Initiate, investigate, and resolve internal investigations as directed by the Assets Protection leader or direct leader.
  • Educate store leadership on merchandise-protection best practices and audit execution.
  • Implement and follow up on operational changes directed by the direct leader.
  • Support the direct leader in educating and supporting store teams on operational shortage priorities.
  • Order merchandise-protection devices, manage the allocated budget, and follow merchandise-protection best-practice guidance.
  • Communicate Assets Protection priorities to the team, peers, and leadership.
  • Build relationships of trust and accountability with the leader and Store Director.
  • Maintain relationships with district and store leaders, law enforcement, and other internal and external partners.
  • Collaborate with retail-organization partners to analyze industry trends and enhance security for guests and team members.
  • Evaluate and recommend candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Support team onboarding and learning, and close knowledge and skill gaps through training and experience.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct and compliance, lead the team accordingly, and hold others accountable.
  • Maintain all required training.
  • Serve as the first responder for in-store safety incidents, including security and weather incidents, by executing established procedures and best practices.
  • Lead the execution of onboarding, learning, development, coaching, and team interactions to close skill gaps.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity and create equitable experiences.
  • Lead a safety culture by modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, correcting hazards with store leaders, holding the team accountable to safety expectations, assisting with incident response, and reporting and investigating injuries accurately and promptly.
  • Execute safety-program management routines, including monthly safety meetings and observations.
  • Participate in legal proceedings as necessary to represent Target’s interests.
  • Model physical-security processes to enhance the in-store security culture.
  • Support merchandise-protection strategies across the total store, including storage and application.
  • Address store needs, including emergencies and regulatory visits.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.
