Requirements
- Previous barback, restaurant, hospitality, or Food and Beverage experience is preferred, but is not stated as required.
- Basic knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, and beer is preferred.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Applicants must meet applicable Louisiana requirements related to alcohol service support operations.
- Applicants must be able to work late-night schedules, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
- Applicants should be dependable, able to work with minimal supervision, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently and professionally during high-volume service.
Responsibilities
- Support bartenders in delivering beverage service.
- Maintain a fully stocked, clean, organized, and presentation-ready bar throughout service.
- Restock spirits, wine, beer, mixers, juices, syrups, garnishes, glassware, ice, and bar supplies.
- Prepare garnishes, juices, syrups, mixers, and cocktail components according to established recipes; assist with preparing house-made cocktail ingredients, infusions, and garnishes as trained.
- Maintain knowledge of the bar’s cocktail, spirits, wine, beer, and food offerings.
- Assist with opening and closing the bar, and maintain adequate ice, glassware, bar tools, and supplies throughout service.
- Set up and break down for regular service, VIP experiences, private events, and special functions.
- Promptly remove used glassware, dishes, trash, and recycling.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bar tops, counters, coolers, sinks, storage areas, equipment, and service stations; assist with cleaning and maintaining bar equipment and tools.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, rotating, and storing beverage products.
- Assist with inventory counts, requisitions, waste tracking, and product accountability; monitor stock levels and report shortages or equipment concerns to leadership.
- Safely transport beverage products, ice, equipment, and supplies throughout the hotel.
- Assist servers and runners during high-volume service periods and interact with guests warmly and professionally when appropriate.
- Follow applicable Louisiana alcohol regulations and responsible beverage service procedures, as well as food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain a polished and professional appearance and uphold the standards and atmosphere of the bar and hotel.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous cocktail bar, luxury hotel, upscale restaurant, or lounge experience is an asset.
- An interest in craft cocktails and beverage culture is desirable.
