Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 10 years of progressive software engineering experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience managing and leading engineering teams, including global or distributed teams.
  • Proven experience owning and delivering end-to-end technical solutions.
  • Hands-on experience using artificial intelligence or generative artificial intelligence tools, including developer copilots, to improve software development productivity and quality.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure for architecture, development, and deployment; C#; .NET Framework; .NET Core; ASP.NET Web API; Angular and/or React; SQL databases; Entity Framework and Entity Framework Core; microservices; and domain-driven design.
  • Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning, AI Copilot, and data-driven solutions.
  • A solid understanding of HL7 and CQL within healthcare technology ecosystems.
  • Strong DevOps and continuous integration and continuous delivery experience in cloud-native environments.
  • Proficiency with Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, CodeQL, and modern development tooling.
  • A strong grounding in data structures, algorithms, and software platform architecture.
  • Experience working in Agile environments focused on faster deployment and continuous improvement.
  • A very good understanding of Agile software development practices and the role of product management.
  • Solid knowledge of product management principles, including prioritization, roadmap development, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level communication.
  • The ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of complex, large-scale software systems with a focus on quality, performance, scalability, security, and resiliency.
  • Own and influence platform, application, and data architecture patterns, ensuring solutions are maintainable, testable, and performant.
  • Solve complex technical problems through the design of APIs, data structures, data models, algorithms, and application flows.
  • Deliver solutions using appropriate languages, frameworks, patterns, and tools for business, product, and operational constraints.
  • Leverage and enhance existing platforms and shared utilities to maximize reuse and organizational efficiency.
  • Identify and execute refactoring opportunities to reduce technical debt in alignment with sprint, program, and roadmap goals.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends and apply them to products and operations.
  • Evaluate and introduce tools, techniques, and automation strategies that drive measurable improvements.
  • Lead the responsible adoption of AI-enabled development practices, including AI copilots and intelligent tooling.
  • Establish and reinforce engineering standards, best practices, and modern development methodologies.
  • Conduct and oversee design and code reviews, ensuring reviews are appropriately scoped and actionable.
  • Provide technical mentorship through hands-on design sessions, collaborative reviews, and coaching.
  • Ensure code quality, security, test coverage, performance, and compliance across team deliverables.
  • Embed automation across testing, build, deployment, and operational processes.
  • Promote DevOps and CI/CD practices to enable faster deployment, reduced cycle time, and higher system reliability.
  • Build, lead, and scale global teams of software engineers across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of quality, accountability, collaboration, inclusion, continuous learning, and peer feedback.
  • Mentor engineers through ongoing coaching, performance reviews, and actionable development plans.
  • Maintain accountability for the projects, systems, and code delivered by the team.
  • Provide leadership oversight and accountability for the performance of senior technical staff.
  • Develop and update resource plans to support delivery predictability and sustainability.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand customer needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Drive prioritization, roadmap creation, and quarterly planning aligned with platform and business goals.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical, executive, and cross-functional audiences.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, PMO, Data Services, DevOps, and other IT teams to deliver integrated solutions and process improvements.
  • Establish and manage relationships with vendor partners and monitor vendor performance, delivery, and compliance.
  • Develop and execute action plans addressing operational gaps, risks, or improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure delivery of business value meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and employment terms while adapting to evolving business needs.
