Responsibilities
  • General Accounting: Responsible for maintenance/oversight of the day-to-day general ledger transactions, including drafting and input of journal entries, liaising with other departments, accountants, managers, controllers in order to maintain an accurate and transparent accounting process.
  • General Accounting: Responsible to maintain fixed asset ledgers, to include entry into FAS software, which then in turn calculates depreciation.
  • General Accounting: Preparation of annual billings and CAM reconciliations as deemed necessary by tenant’s lease agreement.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepares and reviews a variety of financial reports/statements including but not limited to the monthly/quarterly financial statements and related reporting packages, exception reports, annual budget and forecast, to ensure completeness and accuracy of head office transactions as well as the completeness, accuracy & integrity of statements/reports.
  • Reconciliations and Compliance Processes: Prepares and when assigned, reviews monthly/quarterly accounting, compliance and vendor/tenant reconciliations and in addition to identifying any discrepancies works with the appropriate individuals to resolve to ensure completeness, accuracies, and integrity of statements.
  • Reconciliations and Compliance Processes: Participates in the filing of regulatory documents.
  • Support to Quarterly/Annual Audit Process: Assists with the audit processes through the preparation and compilation of the working papers and financial statements in addition to helping resolve external audit queries.
  • Support to Annual Forecast and Budget Process: Assists Property Managers and Accounting Managers during the annual forecast and budgeting process.
  • Other Corporate Accounting Duties: Assists or completes ad hoc projects assigned by Manager or Comptroller (ex. assisting with the research, development and implementation of emerging technical accounting requirements or processes) to ensure that the corporate finance group is complying with current standards and is prepared for any changes to such standards in the future.

Jun 18, 2026, 08:10 ET /NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO U.S. NEWS WIRE SERVICES OR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES/ MISSISSAUGA, ON, June 18, 2026 /CNW/ - Morguard Corporation ("Morguard") (TSX: MRC) is pleased to announce the successful completion of its previously announced issuance of $250 million aggregate principal amount of series J senior unsecured debentures. These debentures bear interest at a rate of 4.307% per annum and will mature on June 18, 2029. The debentures were offered on an agency basis by a syndicate of agents with RBC Capital Markets and TD Securities acting as joint bookrunners and co-lead agents. Morningstar DBRS has provided a rating of "BBB (low)" with a "Stable" trend relating to the debentures. The net proceeds of the offering will be used towards the early redemption on June 22, 2026 of all of Morguard's outstanding 9.5% Series H senior unsecured debentures due September 26, 2026, and for general corporate purposes. Morningstar DBRS has assigned a provisional rating of "BBB (low)" with a "Stable" trend relating to the debentures. Morguard also announced that it will redeem all of its outstanding 9.5% Series H senior unsecured debentures due September 26, 2026 (the "2023 Debentures") on June 22, 2026 (the "Redemption Date"). The net proceeds of the offering will be used towards the early redemption of the 2023 Debentures and for general corporate purposes. StorageVault Canada (SVI-T) has nominated Milton Lamb to its board of directors, a move expected to be approved at its upcoming AGM in May. Lamb is the president, CEO and a trustee of Automotive Properties REIT (APR-UN-T) and has over 30 years of experience in the Canadian commercial real estate industry. That experience includes time with some of its largest global real estate service companies including CBRE, Jones Lang Wootton (JLL) and, most recently, Colliers International. At Colliers, Lamb was chair of national investment services and represented Canada on Colliers Global Investment Services and Colliers Investment Services Group (U.S.A.). Lamb is an institute-certified director with the Institute of Corporate Directors. In addition, Benjamin Harris has indicated he will not stand for re-election after serving on the board since 2020.
