Requirements
  • A Doctor of Pharmacy degree is required.
  • A pharmacist license is required.
  • Three years of relevant work experience are required.
  • The candidate must have knowledge of pharmacy procedures and regulations.
  • The candidate must be able to work independently.
Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare providers to optimize patient care.
  • Advise physicians on the dangers of drugs, incorrect prescription doses, and potential side effects.
  • Promote improvements in drug usage and dosage and supervise therapeutic procedures to achieve optimal results.
  • Coordinate pharmacy duties, including preparing, labeling, and delivering medications or supplies according to prescriptions.
  • Ensure that dispensed drugs are recorded and delivered in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Observe and treat patients in healthcare settings and conduct research to advance pharmaceutical care and the treatment and prevention of disease.
  • Individualize medication regimens using pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic principles and account for variations in drug absorption.
  • Suggest improvements to work methods.
  • Conduct and evaluate medication histories, assess compliance, and suggest modifications to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
