- Monitor patients' vital signs and comfort level during surgery.
- Handle and dispose of surgical waste and hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide post-operative care instructions, including oral hygiene practices, medication administration, and dietary restrictions.
- Answer patients' questions and concerns, offering reassurance and empathy throughout their treatment process.
- Educate patients about oral health, prevention methods, and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records documenting treatment plans, procedures, and progress.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with other dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Manage patient records, update medical histories, and handle billing and insurance documentation.
- Assist with inventory management, order dental supplies, and maintain equipment.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Previous experience as a dental assistant, particularly in oral surgery, is highly desirable.
- Discharge experience is highly preferred.
