Line Haul Driver
About the job
- A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Doubles/Triples endorsements is required.
- A valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (medical card) is required.
- At least 2 years of experience operating a tractor-trailer with doubles and triples is required.
- Strong knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations and safety standards is required.
- Ability to work independently and maintain a reliable schedule.
- An acceptable motor vehicle record and successful completion of a Department of Transportation drug screen are required.
- Ability to adapt to change, manage competing demands, and demonstrate reliability.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Safely and efficiently pull double or triple 28-foot trailers over an established route.
- Drop trailers at designated depots and hook empty trailers to return to the Lawrence distribution center the same day.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers.
- Spot trailers in the yard or on doors as necessary.
- Use an Electronic Logging Device to log and track hours of service.
- Drive safely.
- Follow all state regulatory and Department of Transportation guidelines.
