Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school or program of Radiologic Technology.
  • Have at least two years of radiologic or multi-modality experience in two or more imaging modalities.
  • Be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), including ARRT Advanced Modality Registration.
  • Be licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) in Radiography and Computed Tomography.
  • Be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Be familiar with age-specific criteria.
  • Hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or an American Red Cross BLS/CPR certification for healthcare providers.
  • Maintain and renew ARRT registration, the state license, BLS certification, PPD, respirator fit test, and point-of-care (POC) training.
  • Be fully competent in advanced modality skill sets and flexible to rotate between modalities.
  • Function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide quality imaging and patient care within two or more imaging modalities.
  • Explain imaging procedures effectively to patients and ensure they are competent in the procedure being performed.
  • Produce images for interpretation or at the request of a licensed practitioner.
